Quinte Sailability’s Claire Adams of Brighton , Ontario is the newest Silver fleet provincial champion. Claire won her very first regatta in impressive fashion as she won all three of her races in Hamilton this past Aug 10 & 11th. Claire narrowly missed out in 2011 in winning a major regatta by finishing second in Vancouver in 2011. This now makes two consecutive years that Silver fleet champion has come from Quinte Sailability as Bryan Cuerrier won this event in 2012. Congratulations to Claire. In other Silver fleet news Kai Freeland who has become QS’s newest racer made his season debut finishing a very impressive 4th over all.
Gold fleet also showed great results with team mates Brett Lyons of Frankford & Bryan Cuerrier of Belleville battling each other for 2nd and 3rd overall. The champ in Gold fleet was a sailor from Toronto by the name of Peter Eagar who won all his races and proved very tough for Brett & Bryan to catch.
With these great results QS is making themselves known in the Martin 16 racing world and head to Mobility Cup in Halifax with eagerness and confidence. Going to MC will be racers Steve Brown, Brett Lyons, Claire Adams & Bryan Cuerrier along with our boats Mac Attack and our new Rotary Way. Fletch & Alex will also be going for Organization and Coaching support. MC is Aug 27 – 30th.
